A recent post on Facebook by Canadian webhost and domain registrar Sibername, brings up another potential scam, this time by an entity called DNS Canada.
It would appear that they are targetting .ca websites, of which the .com version of the name is still available to be registered.
DNS Canada is not a CIRA or ICANN accredited domain registrar – it would be recommended you ignore their solicitations.
Their website is a near carbon copy of DNS USA, DNS Ireland, DNS Australia, and potentially others. The contact information for the Canadian version lists “439 University Ave 5th Floor” in Toronto, which is the same address of a virtual office provider that answers phone calls and forwards postal mail on behalf of their clients.
A commenter on the Scams subreddit points out that the domain name was only just registered last month, despite claiming to have been in business since 2009.
