Global News has reported that the Conservatives have launched an “iPod tax” website , using the domain name ipodtax.ca, registered to Heritage Minister, James Moore.

Liberal Party sources have alerted Apple of the use of the mark.

In the article, Michael Geist, the Canada Research Chair in Internet and E-commerce Law at the University of Ottawa, claims that the campaign is false and that Moore has registered multiple versions of the domain name.

Whois details show that the domain name was registered in December of 2010.
